Amazfit Bip Review
About two weeks ago I bought Amazfit Bip as my first smart watch and here is my review.
DESIGN AND FEEL
So first let's talk about the first thing that you see when you look at the Amazfit Bip, the design.
It's no secret that the watch reminds many people of the apple watch, and while that might be true, to your first look you can see some budget-friendly changes like the smaller screen with low resolution (176x176) and quite big bezles.
I chose the black version instead of the other ones, but you can also buy white, green and red ones.
The watch comes with a silicone strap that's pretty comfortable and feels quite good, but you can also replace it with many others like a metal mesh one or a leather one if you really want a more serious look.
One of the most annoying design choices is the AMAZFIT inscription right under the display, thankfully it's small and greyish, but it would still be better off without it.
FUNCTIONS, USECASES AND SPECS
The Amazfit Bip is a smart watch for people who do any kind of sport, but you can also get some other uses for it.
It can display notifications if it is connected to your smartphone with Mi Fit installed on it.
It also has a heart rate monitor, alarm clock, stopwatch, countdown, compass and you can use it to find your phone with the "Find device" option in it's setting where you can also change the watch face.
It has a few built-in watch faces but it allows you to add a custom one, you can make it yourself with some tools that can be found on the internet.
I added a QR code instead of a watch face, but unfortunately the Bip uses a proprietary OS instead of WearOS and there isn't a way to make your own app for it and that's a bummer.
The battery life a excellent with up to 45 days without charging, but in my experience it can work for up to a month which isn't bad at all.
It also has an IP68 rating so it can survive a splash or get wet when you wash your hands without any issues.
The Amazfit Bip is very good for what it is, a not so smart smart watch with excellent battery life, and with it's price being about 80$ it's a really good purchase if you don't need any advanced stuff from it.
For that, the only thing I can do is recommend it.
